Natural Cure for Hemorrhoids – What Works and What Not?
Before worrying about a natural cure for hemorrhoids, you must first understand that unless you employ the methods of injection, rubber banding, surgery or cauterization, your hemorrhoid will likely never necessarily disappear; it will just get smaller or stop manifesting uncomfortable symptoms. In fact the only true natural cure for hemorrhoids is simply to remove it via a good ‘ol rubber band or surgery. However, that’s not to say that there are not a plethora of alternative medicine suggestions for home care, along with options for a natural cure for hemorrhoids, or, at a minimum, containment of bothersome symptoms. Most of them are helpful to shrink hemorrhoids, bring soothing or cooling relief or reduce the associated inflammation.
One of the most popular hemorrhoids home remedies involves nothing more than a simple bath. In fact, taking a sitz bath for hemorrhoids can combine many aspects of therapy including home remedies and herbal. For instance, you can choose to put a bucket of hot water in the tub, or just use the tub itself as your sitz basin. Additionally, you may choose a simple hot water soak for about 20 minutes, or can choose to incorporate herbal helpers such as chamomile herb (an anti inflammatory). No matter which method works the best for you, sitz baths are an undeniably good method to relieve discomfort to a tender tush.
Witch hazel for hemorrhoids is extremely popular and is available in many over the counter remedies including products labeled as a natural cure for hemorrhoids. While witch hazel may not zap an irritating inflamed vein, it can provide an immense amount of soothing and cooling relief which is an ideal quick treatment, particularly if you are out and about an unable to treat via other methods.
There are two plants that purportedly provide a natural cure for hemorrhoids; Butcher’s Broom and Horse Chestnut. It’s been suggested that the butcher’s broom is effective against both hemorrhoids and varicose veins because it’s believed to have anti inflammatory properties. These properties are reported to shrink swollen tissues. Horse chestnut is believed to be a natural cure for hemorrhoids because it also has been used for centuries in folk medicine as an anti inflammatory agent. While legends persist, there is little evidence to support the notion that either of these herbal solutions are very effective at combating an angry anus.
Remember that one of the first signs of hemorrhoids is rectal bleeding which can be very serious. Home care can be very effective at treating the symptoms of these common calamities, however questionable symptoms or a combination of symptoms should warrant an evaluation by a healthcare provider.
